Greetings!

Oh my! I don’t know how much longer the trees will be able to wait for warm weather! The buds are just waiting for a warm day…Last Saturday we had strong winds, Sunday a little snow and this week it has been quite cool…

I came across this month’s article and thought it very interesting, I hope you do too!

Full Moon and their Names:

~May 2008

The best time to see Mercury is on the 6th, at about 35 minutes after sunset, when the charbroiled planet floats next to the crescent Moon, 12 degrees high in the west. Although Mercury remains visible until the 26th, it is only one-tenth as bright by then, at magnitude 2.0, and hidden by the twilight. Mars, halfway up the western sky at nightfall, crosses into Cancer and floats in front of the famous Beehive star cluster from the 22nd to the 24th. This fine sight is best viewed through binoculars. Saturn is highest at nightfall and appears above the Moon on the 12th. Jupiter, at magnitude -2.5, rises by midnight at month’s end. Venus is too close to the Sun to be seen.

May’s full moon name:

Full flower moon: flowers spring forth in abundance this month. Some Algonquin tribes (New England to Lake Superior) knew this full moon as the Corn planting moon or the Milk moon.

~June 2008

Mars and Saturn are now evening-only objects. The red planet crosses into Leo in midmonth, fades to below magnitude 1.5, and becomes a medium-bright “star.” Saturn does better at magnitude 0.8, slightly brighter than the star Regulus, next to it. The Moon is close to Mars on the 7th and near Saturn the next night. Mercury and Venus are hidden behind the Sun’s glare, but Jupiter emerges as the summer’s dominant planet. The giant world, shining at a blazing -2.7, rises before 11:00 p.m. and meets the Moon on the 19th. The two will grab the world’s attention that night as they parade together in the midnight sky. Summer begins with the solstice on the 20th, at 7:59 p.m

Full Moon names for June’s full moon:

Full Strawberry moon; the Algonquin tribes knew this moon as a time to gather ripening strawberries. It is also known as the Rose moon and the Hot moon.

Analyzing The Path

Recognizing Happiness

Those of us on the path of personal and spiritual growth have a tendency to analyze our unhappiness in order to find the causes and make improvements. But it is just as important, if not more so, to analyze our happiness. Since we have the ability to rise above and observe our emotions, we can recognize when we are feeling joyful and content. Then we can harness the power of the moment by savoring our feelings and taking time to be grateful for them.
Recognition is the first step in creating change, therefore recognizing what it feels like to be happy is the first step toward sustaining happiness in our lives. We can examine how joy feels in our bodies and what thoughts run through our minds in times of bliss. Without diminishing its power, we can retrace our steps to discover what may have put us in this frame of mind, and then we can take note of the choices we’ve made while there.
We might realize that we are generally more giving and forgiving when there’s a smile on our face, or that we are more likely to laugh off small annoyances and the actions of others when they don’t resonate with our light mood.
Once we know what it feels like and can identify some of the triggers and are aware of our actions, we can recreate that happiness when we are feeling low. Knowing that like attracts like, we can pull ourselves out of a blue mood by focusing on joy. We might find that forcing ourselves to be giving and forgiving, even when it doesn’t seem to come naturally, helps us to reconnect with the joy that usually precedes it.
If we can identify a song, a picture, or a pet as a happiness trigger, we can use them as tools to recapture joy if we are having trouble finding it. By focusing our energy on analyzing happiness and all that it encompasses, we feed, nurture, and attract more of it into our lives, eventually making a habit of happiness.

Turtle’s Pond-erings

What sense is it to place a meditation online that you have to read? That really never made any sense to me, so I have put up a couple (hopefully more to follow) audio meditations on the website. http://www.turtlezen.com/meditationindex.html

Another new item on the website is that I have updated and reorganized “birds” in the Amazing World section. It is a work in progress.

I have been finding it difficult to really get into Spring…perhaps it is because it has been so cold. My daffodils are up along with the hyacinth’s are up…I still would love to plant some crocus…these are my favorites for springtime. I especially love daffodils, with their sunny yellow faces.

When you are looking up how to spell a word in the dictionary, you have to spell it. Isn’t that a type of oxymoron?

If the pen is mightier than the sword, why do actions speak louder than words? Huh??? Another oxymoron!

Okay, those were just some of the things that have gone through my head…at least the ones’ I have managed to catch and put on paper before they went zipping by.

Until next time, keep smilin’. May the Creator hold you in the palm of His hand; may you float as a feather upon the breath of the Creator.

On the subject of file backup, sharing and storage …

Online backup is becoming common these days. It is estimated that 70-75% of all PC’s will be connected to online backup services with in the next decade.

Thousands of online backup companies exist, from one guy operating in his apartment to fortune 500 companies.

Choosing the best online backup company will be very confusing and difficult. One website I find very helpful in making a decision to pick an online backup company is:

http://www.BackupReview.info

This site lists more than 400 online backup companies in its directory and ranks the top 25 on a monthly basis.
